and then a list of of trending destinations for 2026:

- Quy Nhon, Vietnam
- Puerto Escondido, Mexico
- Milan, Italy
- Glasgow, Scotland
- Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates
- Recife, Brazil
- San Carlos de Bariloche, Argentina
We used to think that these lists were just sales gimmicks or popularity contests. Gradually, we have begun to realize that the popular destinations are popular for a reason; they all have something special to offer. We realized that we ourselves have been to 8 of the 10 “Best of the Best” countries at least twice.
We have 4 trips already planned for 2026 and will visit 11 different counties. Only 1 will be a “new to us” destination: Paraguay. All the rest will be repeat visits! Admittedly, a couple of those countries aren’t exactly top tourist destinations (i.e. Uruguay and Albania) but several of the rest are indeed on the “Best of the Best” list. All of these top ranked countries are worth repeat visits (if you’re so lucky!).
