A day in Galle

Took a tuk tuk to visit the colonial city of Galle about 6 km north of our hotel on Wijaya beach. The Fort was founded by the Portuguese in the 16th century. Later it was occupied by the Dutch and finally the English. Walked along the walls by the clock tower; visited the old Dutch church paved with gravestones; watched a snake charmer!; visited the Marine Archeology Museum; and bought a neat batik. Headed back to Wijaya for a delicious sunset dinner on the beach.
