The ruins of Ostia Antica, Rome’s ancient port city
Feb 11, 2020.  A gorgeous sunny day in Ostia Antica. Spent the whole afternoon visiting the Roman archeological site and museum of Ostia Antica. It was the port of ancient Rome and was once right at the confluence of the Tiber River and the sea. Now the Mediterranean is 7 kilometers away and the river has changed course significantly. The site itself is very well preserved and very interesting to see. Lots of amazing mosaics but sadly most were covered in tarps for the winter.

Tomorrow we start the journey home via Heathrow. Another fabulous Italian seafood dinner to finish up our trip!
