Fabulous 2 weeks in Perth with our daughter and our new granddaughter came to a tearful end.
Flew to the Indonesian island of Lombok via Bali. Arrived late at night and woke up the next morning to explore Kuta beach. Gorgeous views but quite crowded due to local holiday. Lazy day around the town and a sunset swim.
Next few days were supposed to be a tour of the local craft villages, hikes to waterfalls, and renting a scooter to visit the southern beaches. Instead we spent the next day in Mataram at the international hospital. Ross had a severe infection that fortunately cleared up once he went on antibiotics. So instead of Kuta we moved to a lovely, but noisy, B&B in Senggigi.
Next day wandered up the beach to the town stopping at the “rock with hole” temple – Batu Bulong. Delicious steak dinner at The Cowshed.
Next morning an early morning start. Fast ferry from Senggigi to Gili Air to start the beachy portion of our holiday.
