On our recent trip to southern Africa, “Namibia and Nearby“, we had an unfortunate incident with Budget Rent a Car overcharging us by falsely claiming “damages” to our rental vehicle. By overcharging, we mean triple the contract price of our rental! Sadly, we found out too late that this scam has been running for years. It doesn’t seem like Budget/Avis is the only company doing this, but they sure seem to be the worst among a bunch of bad actors!
